Initiatives:
1)
The Church in Shah Shaheed, Batapur is rebuilt through the help of a
local benefactor.
2)
Franciscan Youth Group is very active in the Parish as a book bank is
established to help the deserving students. Passing students have given their
old books and some are bought by the Parish, in this way we manage to help about
300 students. The youth members are also visiting the sick in the hospitals and
at their homes. Besides this they have prepared a letter head pad, bags
(identification). The youth actively participate in liturgy and help us at
festivals and all programmes.
3)
Christian and Muslim Peace Committee is made. The purpose is to keep the
peace and harmony among Christians and Muslims. Once a month a regular meetings
are held. The special days e.g. Eids and Pakistani days are celebrated together.
Through this committee we arrange medical camps, social programmes and awareness
programmes. This group is also a help to search for job for jobless Christians
in Cantt area.
