SHORT HISTORY:

St. Francis Xavier Parish is the first Parish in Gujranwala district. Till 1925 Gujranwala was part of Sialkot Cantt Parish. On 14^th January 1927 land was purchased for Chapel and Parish at Hafizabad Road. Our Parish has been dedicated and named after the great Spanish Jesuit world Missionary St. Francis Xavier by coincidence the Founder Parish Priest of our Parish a great Capuchin Missionary from Belgium had the same Father Francis Xavier, OFM Cap.

9^th August 1939

Very Rev. Fr. Marcel Roger, Vicar General, laid C Foundation Stone of St. Francis Xavier Church.

3^rd December 1997

The Blessing of the new Church at St. Francis Xavier Parish took place.
